The
NMRA, in an attempt to develop a broad base of experienced modelers who
were willing to assist less experienced modelers and to promote the hobby,
developed the Achievement awards program. One of the central activities are the various model contests and competitions that
provide a focal point at the many conventions and meetings.
I
have enjoyed this program both as a competitor and as a judge in several of
the contests. I have also enjoyed traveling throughout Connecticut working with various
modelers who are in the process of earning thier
certification.
