Holly (aka Bailee) was found somewhere around Nov 15th in Tennessee by Amber Harvey along with her three [all black] siblings Ruthie (aka Rudy), Patty (aka Piper) and Jasmine in a cold Tennessee November rain.  No one knew who the mother belonged to and the puppies were left on the porch of a farm that had horses and cows.  The puppies were about five or six weeks old at the time they were found

Harriet and I both came from families who loved dogs so we adopted our first one week after we bought our first home.  Since then we have adopted all our dogs and have always had two so they would have someone to be with when we are not home.  Sandy, Shadow’s former companion passed away shortly before Christmas.  Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your point of view) the local shelters had almost no adoptable pets at the time.

Then we found out about Holly through the PetFinder.com data base and contacted Good Dog Rescue about Holly.   The folks there were quite helpful giving prompt answers to our enquiries.  Mike our coordinator took us Step by step through the adoption process letting us talk to all Holly’s foster moms and when the time came, put us in touch with Pam and Kyle who actually brought Holly here to Connecticut in a special USDA approved air-conditioned trailer.

We love Holly and she has really fit in from day one.  Shadow and Holly can be heard thundering down the halls as they romp and play throughout the house.  They chase balls, play tug-of-war with their rope toys and sleep together wherever space permits.  As everyone knows, having a puppy is much like having a two-year-old around the house, however having a few grandchildren around from time to time that is certainly not an issue.

P.S.  We have been told that all of Holly’s siblings have been adopted thanks to Good Dog Rescue and we would love to post any of their pictures.

Harriet and I would like to thank Amber, Debbie, Pat, Mike, Margo and all those involved with bringing Holly to our happy home.
